I was happy to see an outdoor camera that I could use without subscribing to any service, so I was glad to try this one out. This is not a little camera, so when you install it outside it will be seen! This is a pretty easy camera to use and it works well, though I found the app to give me a few problems on occasion. Nothing too serious, just minor annoyances. Just a few times I had trouble getting some settings to change when I wanted them to, but everything worked correctly eventually. The camera itself is very easy to use. It was easy to connect to wifi and the picture is clear. It also gives you a good range and large viewing area. I love the solar panel with this one, so you can install it and not have to worry about taking it down to charge it again. The alarm on the camera is really loud and should definitely scare intruders away! This is one of the times I had difficulty with the app, however, I turned it on to sound the alarm when it detected movement, but I couldn’t get it to go off again. I really don’t want it to make that much noise every time there is movement! I did eventually get it to turn off. You can also speak through the app to the camera. This works well and is pretty clear. I really wanted to put this camera in a place that won’t reach wifi and hoped that it would record on the SD card even if wifi isn’t connected. Unfortunately, it won’t do this, but the description didn’t indicate that it would so I am not counting that against it. Overall, I am very happy with this camera and feel like it will keep my place a little safer.

So far, it’s good quality, wifi range, and versatile movement – I especially love the solar panel aspect of this security camera. I’m curious to see how the AI tech performs – the only con – I had to install yet another smart tech app (seems every gadget I have has a different app). I’m happy with the product so far.

This feels like a quality stand-alone camera that’s very easy to set up. Because it’s WiFi enabled and Solar powered, there’s no wiring necessary except between the camera and solar panel. The drawback is that the WiFi range is short so you’re a bit limited to where you can put it. It needs to be almost line of sight to your WiFi router. I also couldn’t figure out how to join it to my existing camera network viewer, so it’s a stand alone system, unless you get other cameras of the same brand. That means you have to use the manufacturer’s app to view the camera, along with any other viewers you have for other cameras. On the app, it’s pretty easy to use, but it takes a few seconds to connect to the camera. Select the camera and you can view it full screen on your phone or other devices. There are motion sensor sensitivity settings, as well as volume, and microphone settings for 2-way communications. The speaker on the camera is pretty loud. You can also sound an audible alarm or turn on a white light remotely. Pan and Tilt are responsive and smooth, and the digital zoom is controlled by two-finger gestures on the screen. The picture is clear and pretty wide so the zoom is helpful if you don’t want such a wide picture. It’s a nice and convenient camera, but I wish I were able to tie it in with my existing camera network.

The camera image is okay. the app is usable, but it’s the only way to access the camera. I do not care for that, and prefer ones that can be integrated with other systems. Overall, there are better ones for the money

This security camera only works with the VicoHome App on your cell phone, the app download is free. In my case, this is the only security camera I currently have, which I had installed on the second story of the house facing the street, and after using it for six months will decide if I want to purchase a second one for the backyard. I also have several trail cameras around the house to capture the wildlife on our heavily wooded property. The camera solar panel faces east as my house faces east and gets full sun so solar panels charge with no issues. The night vision on this camera is decent, but then I do not have experience with what a high-quality security night vision camera would produce. The night vision range is 35 ft but the way my house is situated I am only about 30 feet from the street which has no outlet so 35 feet is plenty of vision area to survey. I do like the two-way audio communication feature, the audible alarm is loud enough to get attention, and the daytime vision is very good. I am interested in seeing how long the 9000mAh battery lasts before it has to be replaced as those run upwards of $50. In order to get alerts that distinguish between people, pets, and animated objects when the camera detects motion you need a subscription purchased through Google Play, you do get a 30-day free trial and then plans start at $2.99 a month. After having the camera for a few months I will decide if purchasing a subscription is beneficial. You can install a microSD card which is not included. I installed a 128GB SD card only because I have a lot of SD cards with varying GB capacities. Keep in mind that you need an SD card reader which is relatively cheap to purchase. I love that this camera does not need to be hard-wired and I am hoping it performs well otherwise I will consider having wired security cameras installed. This security camera only works on a 2.4 GHz network and is not capable of identifying a 5 GHz network unless your access point (wireless router) is dual band. Many routers are dual-band by default but always good to check if the need arises. 5 GhZ is a LOT faster than 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The only concern I had with this security camera is where to install it so it is close to my Wi-Fi router as the description states that the camera can reach the router’s Wi-Fi signals up to roughly 150 meters or 490 feet, providing there is nothing blocking the signal. I installed this camera as close to the location of my router as possible, which is about 35 feet, the only thing between my router and the camera is the exterior of the house and so far there have been no problems with the camera connecting to the router. You can also share the camera with family and friends if you choose by using the app. In my case, I do not have a reason to share the camera with anyone other than the family residing in my house.
