  1. Ilse Kamerling –

Very happy with my new bag and happy that those sold by Kurfurst GmbH are definitely the real deal (confirmed with Bevisgear themselves). I ordered it here to avoid issues with import from USA/Canada to the Netherlands, which would have added significant extra cost to the order. Communication from Kurfurst was quick and friendly, and my bag arrived about 1,5 weeks after ordering as predicted, just in time to take it with me for my holiday.

I’m very glad that I did order it though as the bag is really great. It has so much space for everything and fits my Sony A7RIII + vertical grip (I don’t even have to remove it!) + 70-400mm tele + 24-105mm + 90mm f2.8 + 18mm f2.8 and the waterproof cover that comes with the bag, and all of that with room to spare. There are plenty of extra dividers and the padding on the inside is nice and thick and soft, while the outer of the bag is firm and sturdy. I took it as my carry-on luggage on the plane as the dimensions are perfect for that, meaning that all my kit safely travelled with me without issues.

So far I have only used it as a rucksack, which is a comfortable way of using it. I’ve yet to try it in sling/shelf mode, which will be a bit of work to get the hang of but it’ll be so good to have that extra functionality. I’ve laid it down on the ground when swapping out lenses etc and the fabric is nice and rugged so you don’t have to worry about damaging it (within reason of course). So far not a scratch!

Whichever mode you use it in, so far after one week of heavy use I am very happy with this bag and think you will not be disappointed if you buy it.

I wanted to love this bag….had high hopes. It is way too bulky and uncomfortable for me. It seems to be made for a big tall man. The straps are very uncomfortable and when turned from backpack to sling, in the process of the tutorial, the thing is practically up under my chin. Please consider making a bag for women and small framed people. I did share this feedback with the seller and received no response. I will be returning it.

  3. Michael Hotinski –

Finding the perfect bag for your wedding photography equipment can often be a challenge. I was hesitant on ordering this bag because of the price but once I started using it it was amazing. It fit my slr, all of my lenses and my drone. The ease of use when shooting and changing lenses and equipment on the Fly was perfect. It was just as advertised in the infomercial. I would recommend this bag to all photographers who struggle with on the go situations and have to have a lot of gear.

This is the bag I’ve been wanting, was not a fan of putting bag down on muddy ground to change lens. Works great !

  5. Hans Hedberrg –

This bag is a game changer. It’s sleek, very durable and is the most versatile bag in the industry. When I’m sling bag mode, all you need to do is quickly loosen the strap and grab the hand and swing it around. One pop of the button and you have access to your gear. No more thinking “damn I wish I had that lens out”. It takes less than 10 seconds to have it swung around and open. I can do it in under 5 seconds I think. The bad reviews state the bag sits high. I think they forgot the loosen the strap step. When loosened it sits right at my hip. And I’m 5,11 165 lbs.

The Top Shelf Camera Bag is exactly what I was looking for! I’ve been searching for an all-in-one swiss army knife camera bag for a while now, and so far this bag from BEVIS Gear has not disappointed. The sling mode is looking like it’ll be perfect for fast-action shots, the dividers have been just right so far given the overall internal space, and table-top-mode is working well as a substitute for a tripod, as well as a perfect worktop for adjusting my gear. I haven’t had much time with it yet, but so far, so good – can’t wait for more!

The concept of this bag is great but for the price it should be better. The bag should have been made deeper to allow lenses to stand vertically thus enabling more gear to be carried. The straps should be thicker and more padded for hiking with your gear. I like the bag and will keep it but make these changes for the next gen bag please.

  8. Michael B. –

The bag works perfect and I was able to get all my stuff in with no problem. I do wish there was a baggy type pocket on the side to be able to put a portable battery charger in it. The bag is still new and maybe with feed back they can adopt some different things, Over all very happy with it.

  9. Jaime Zablah –

The bag appeared to be made with good quality material, not as bulky and the fact that you could swing it to your side to get your equipment. Unfortunately all my equipment specially my telephoto lens did not fit no matter how i put the dividers and i need to carry the big lens. But it is a nice bag.

  10. Lorenzo –

I really wanted to like this product, but unfortunately, I have to return it as I cannot use it.

    Three reasons:

    1. The bag is too shallow and it will not a Canon R5 with a grip, no matter how you rotate it. I’d have to take the grip off to be able to carry my camera, and that will not happen. If you have a Canon R3, it won’t fit also, and in that case, you can’t even take the grip off as it is built-in into the camera.
    2. I am a 5’8″ bodybuilder. Even though I am on the short side but I am built, and to make the shelf position usable I have to make the sling strap very long or the shelf sits way too high on my chest. With that strap length, the bag sits on my butt when I am carrying it. So, with my body, I need to choose between a good shelf position or a usable carrying position.
    3. When switching to backpack mode, the second strap can barely be made long enough to match with the sling strap the way I have to have it. With that strap to match the sling strap in place, the backpack is unusable as it sits way too low. While the low sitting position is barely acceptable in sling mode, it is just unusable in backpack mode.

So, overall the bag cannot fit my gear and cannot be used with my body type (5’8″, slim but wide shoulders and built chest)

Great comfort, fits a lot of stuff and easy access.

  12. Brian Jojade –

I’ve been using the bag for about a year. Construction of the bag is top notch. Design concept is quite amazing and works well. Being able to quickly access the inside of the bag without taking it off is awesome.

At first, keeping the cover closed with just the simple latch was scary, but after a year, I have no reason to not trust it. Part of my justification to get this bag was I had forgotten to close the zipper on my last bag and picked it up, almost destroying everything inside. With this bag, flip the lid closed and latch it. It’s obvious if it’s not closed correctly so you don’t accidentally grab and go. I rarely close the zippers on the back when using it. Once on your back, there’s no way someone could get into the bag and snag your gear without you knowing, which is awesome.

Now, even with all of that awesome, there are a few shortcomings that V2 could address.

    1. The size of the bag could be a wee bit larger. I can’t fit a camera with a grip inside the bag because the depth is just a tad too thin. Additionally, if I want a camera with a big lens on it, it’s not going to fit in the bag. It handles my Z6 and 70-200, but my 200-500 that I use when hiking isn’t going to fit. Maybe eventually they could offer a couple different sizes so that depending on your camera, you could pick the appropriate size, or even better would be to offer an expandable zipper where you could adjust the depth as needed.

    2. The straps are just plain uncomfortable. Heavier padding on the straps would be a very welcome addition.

    3. Switching from sling to backpack is a bit awkward. Sling mode that’s effective for the swing around and act as a shelf means carrying the back in a very awkward position, which is not great for hiking whatsoever. I’ve actually modified my bag slightly to address this. By adding a belt strap to the bag, I’m able to easily switch from sling to backpack mode very easily. My solution is bulky and cumbersome, using what I happened to have around the house, but the concept could easily be added to this bag to make it nearly perfect.
