They kind of market this for a little kiddo and when I got it, I tried to fly it and I have a drone. It really wasn’t suitable for an eight year year old. I found a different one online that was much better but it was a good product I liked it, but it wasn’t for me. I’ll have to wait until Christmas to get one.

After I received this drone, I was so exited to use it that I started flying it without reading the instructions. Surprisingly, I was able to fly it around my living room immediately. However, I would suggest that you read the instructions first as there are a number of things that should be done, before flying the drone to make it easier to control. I have numerous obstacles in the house, yet I was able to maneuver around them easily. If you plan on flying indoors, I would suggest that you keep it at the low speed, unless you have quick reflexes. When flying outdoors, I like to fly it in high speed mode. One other caution outside is that if it is windy, it will get blown around, as it is very light weight, I used the camera to check my rain gutters to see how full of leaves and debree they were, and it worked great. Since I have a two story house, the less time I have to use a latter the better, and this saved me time and effort. I am totally satisfied with this drone and why I gave it 5 stars.

I got this for my son’s 12th birthday. He is very good at tech and gadgets, he has a 3D printer, and remote control cars, and considers himself a pretty decent beginner engineer/coder/inventor 🙂 Still we knew it’s just a beginner drone, very good price and thought if it as a stepping stone to better more expensive drones in the future if he enjoys it and is good at it. Start small right? Well, we were not aware that due to it’s very light weight this drone should not be flown outdoors if it’s windy. We live near the beach so there’s always a slight breeze. Anyway, on his first flight, depsite all my son’s attempts to get control, the drone went up into the sky and continued to just acend in to the heavens until it disappeared entirely. My son immediately burst into tears and we tried to google what to do as we drove around town looking for it’s fallen corpse. To no avail and that’s when we learned that this has happened to others. It’s called a flyaway, and it was either the wind, or just a malfunction. I reached out to the seller and they are long distance, I believe in China, but they responded in the middle of the night and right away offered to replace it free. I was so grateful because my son is very worried about spending money and was already sad that it had been such a waste. We got the replacement drone in a few days and it worked just fine at first! We were careful to tie a string to the body when flying it outdoors, so kind of like a helium balloon, we could catch the string if it started to fly away again. We also avoided flying it higher than 6 ft or so, so as not to catch a gust of wind or current. My son got very good at flying it indoors throughout the whole house and used the camera to make fun videos of chasing the cat up the stairs or surprising his sister. Anyway, about a month goes by and he comes to me and says one of the propellers isn’t spinning anymore. We do a little test drive and sure enough 3 of the propellers are whirring away and 1 is just sitting there, so the drone can no longer lift off. Now this may have been from banging into a wall, or dropping to the floor too fast, he insists there was no significant crash. I looked all over for a place that would look at it and try to repair it. Every drone shop I called said they would only repair the DJI brand drones, no one else would look at it. I figured it must be an easy fix, I looked at videos on Youtube, we tried all the suggestions, making sure the propeller wasn’t pushed too far down into the motor, resetting everything, changing the batteries. Nothing helped. Finally as a last resort and knowing it was past the 30 day return window, I reached out to the seller again and just asked if they could possibly repair it. Right away and very nicely, they just offered to send a replacement, AGAIN! Wonderful, thank you so much! Sad that we can’t just repair the old one, but maybe with a replacement coming, my son might be brave enough to take it apart and try harder to fix it himself, or learn more from videos, or even just keep it for spare parts in case the new one brakes. But I can’t say enough how kind and generous and understanding the seller has been, knowing they didn’t have to help us the second time. And going forward if his love of drones continues we will need to upgrade to something more sturdy and long-lasting, maybe for his 13th birthday. But for now he will learn from mistakes and get better at flying it. So yes, it’s cheap, and yes, it’s a trial-and-error beginner process, but we’ve gotten our money’s worth and then some so I highly recommend.

Absolutely for beginners. The drone is very lightweight but pretty sturdy, which you’ll find after crashing it several times getting to know it. LOL There is a guy on Youtube who goes over the functions, setup with the app, and how the controls work that helped me more than anything.
The app you need to record with this is clunky, awful, and keeps disconnecting from its own Wifi, but it does work and it automatically saves video to your phone, which is fantastic.
Two rechargeable batteries come with it, which you need because they last around 20 minutes each. The downside is that they don’t have indicator lights to let you know when they’re charged. It also comes with three AAA batteries for the remote, which is nice.
The instructions were pretty bad and the print is tiny, which made them extremely hard to deal with. I ended up photographing them with my phone to blow them up. As I mentioned, YouTubers are much more helpful than the printed instructions.
As far as the drone itself, it almost defies you to keep it steady and doesn’t hover in one spot, always drifting left or right, needing constant readjusting, but once you get used to this it’s pretty responsive to the remote.
Definitely good for learning on, but for anyone experienced with drones, you’ll want a lot more functionality than this has.

I’ve never owned a drone before, seen this one and thought I would try it. Drone had great reviews that I seen. I got to fly for 15 minutes or so and now one motor won’t work correctly ( spinning much slower than the others). I had only 2 very minor crashes. I switched batteries thinking maybe that would help and nothing. Only other complaint I have, is how bad the drone drifts.

Within minutes of emailing buyer, they have a new drone sent my way. Great customer support!!

I dont write reviews normally but I am very pleased with this purchase I am on number two since the first one I tried to fly around went up
when it landed on my roof like a little engine that could ran hard enough to melt the arm the company sent me a replacement without a problem my play current flight time is about 12 hours and it is still going after trees and a few other bumps highly recommend the guards for the blades the control knobs will fall off but other than that it make me want to send them out at Christmas for my brother and sisters ps we are all over 40 years old and I can operate it the camera is great quality best $50 spent

This is a great little drone. We bought it for our 7 year old and he manipulates is easily. It’s not great in strong winds, but I imagine that’s the case for most drones. Easy to use and a MUST buy for beginners, especially children. My husband is also very keen on it but I’ve reminded him he needs to share with the child that the present was intended for!!! 🙂
